The 10-year challenge is taking social media by a storm and the latest to join the bandwagon is Indian Premier League franchise Chennai Super Kings. One of the most popular IPL teams, CSK enjoys a massive fan base across the country, thanks to their talismanic captain MS Dhoni. The reigning IPL champions on Thursday shared their own version of the 10-year challenge with a video of their theme son ‘whistle podu,’ featuring Dhoni.

CSK returned to the IPL fold last year after serving a suspension for two years in a spot-fixing case. The franchise along with Rajasthan Royals were banned from taking part in the tournament. However, CSK made a roaring return to the competition with Dhoni at the helm of affairs. They went on to bag their third title beating Sunrisers Hyderabad in the final.

“Social media challenge fads come and go. But this…is us. Now…and always. #WhistlePodu turns 10. #10YearChallenge,” wrote Chennai Super Kings on Twitter sharing the 2009 and the latest version of whistle podu song.

CSK ahead of the IPL 2019 player auction retained a core group of players including the likes of Suresh Raina, Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja and Dwayne Bravo among others. They let go off just three players in total, two domestic – Kanishk Seth and Kshitiz Sharma, one international – Mark Wood. While Mitchell Santner took Wood’s spot in the squad, CSK roped in pacer Mohit Sharma and batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad for next season.

While skipper Dhoni rolled back years and played a key role in CSK’s title-winning run with his best last season, the team had a lot of positives from their campaign last season with the likes of Shane Watson, Ambati Rayudu and Lungi Ngidi playing significant roles in the title triumph. CSK will be looking to repeat the feat of winning consecutive titles for the second time in the history of the tournament having won it twice in 2010 and 2011.
