Xiaomi officially announced to launch the Mi 9 in China on February 20. Reports suggest that alongside the Mi 9, Xiaomi also plans to launch Mi 9 Explorer Edition, new Mi router and also a smartwatch. With just a few days to go for the launch, Xiaomi itself has revealed a lot of details about the Mi 9. The company has revealed the official pictures and the key specs of the Mi 9. A new report reveals the pricing details of both the Mi and Mi 9 Explorer Edition.
According to a poster posted on Chinese microblogging site — Weibo — Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with a starting price of ¥3499 while the Mi 9 Explorer Edition will be priced at ¥5999. With the Mi 9, Xiaomi is offering some top notch features like 48MP main rear camera, triple rear camera system, in-display fingerprint, waterdrop notch, Snapdragon 855, among other things.
Xiaomi has revealed almost all the key information of the Mi 9 via official teasers. The company has revealed that the Mi 9 will come with features like game turbo, will be capable to producing sound quality equivalent to 0.9cc large speaker, Corning’s sixth-generation Gorilla Glass, and 90.7 per cent screen to body ratio to offer great video viewing experience.
Xiaomi has also revealed that the upcoming Mi 9 will come with the fastest in-display fingerprint sensor found in any smartphone so far. The company revealed that the Mi 9 will come with “New gen fingerprint in-display”. The flagship has been confirmed to come with optical in-display fingerprint sensor. The phone will also feature Samsung’s AMOLED display.
The Mi 9 will include three cameras on the back panel out of which one will include an ultra-wide lens. The flagship has been confirmed to come with 12-megapixel telephoto lens paired with F 1.75 aperture. The main rear camera will include a 48MP lens and the company says it will be able to capture ultra clear, high-resolution pictures. The company has also confirmed that the three cameras will be protected with scratch-resistant sapphire glass and a stainless steel frame.
The Mi 9 will be the first Xiaomi phone to be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Xiaomi flagship phone will be an enhanced version of the previously launched Mi 8. The smartphone will come with a waterdrop notch display which will equip a single selfie camera.
Compared to the Mi 9, the Explorer Edition will be bigger on specs and hence the high price. The Mi 9 Explorer Edition will include four cameras on the rear panel. On the front there will be one selfie shooter. Both the Mi 9 and Explorer Edition will launch in China on Feb 20. The global launch of the Mi 9 is set to Feb 24 at Mobile World Congress 2019.
